Professional staff stand ready to provide value-added services, resources, and assistance to serve the needs of businesses looking to expand, relocate, or start-up in Jacksonville.  Created by the voters of Jacksonville in 1995, JEDCO is a Type B economic development corporation. The first chair of the board was Senator Robert L. Nichols. JEDCO is led by a seven- member Board of Directors appointed by the Jacksonville City Council.  Operation Facelift: • Operation Facelift was started in 2016 • Encourages reinvestment and beautification of building façades • Matching grant program offers up to $5,000 for eligible improvements • Eligible improvements include painting, remodeling, signage, 10 lighting, and more • To date (December 2019), over 80 businesses have participated in the program • Projects have led to over $1,000,000 of reinvestment • Program expanded to include demolition projects – 8 completed to date Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce | 2020 City Hall- 315 S.
