Preparing to launch off is often an exciting yet scary time . It is natural to be a little nervous whether you are launching off all by yourself for the first time , starting a new business venture , or sending your first child off to college .
When my oldest child began college , naturally , I asked myself those questions like any parent . Is she really ready to go off on her own ? Will she practice what she has been taught ? Did I do a good job instilling in her the values needed to make fruitful decisions ? Would that be reflected in her college experience or not ? The many questions we can ask ourselves , right ?
Then I reminded myself that I could not allow fear or nervousness to grip me . Surely the same God who kept me in seasons of foolishness is the same God that kept my father during the height of the pandemic and is also the same God that would keep my daughter as well ! Launching off doesn ’ t have to be scary when we remember that all successful launches ultimately begin with God and not us . While it ’ s natural to ask ourselves the what-ifs , we must also remain faithful that the God who is calling forth the launch is the God who will sustain the launch .
I encourage you today that as you launch forward into whatever and wherever God is calling you or your family , you will not be consumed with the what-ifs of life but remain in hopeful expectation of what God will do through your launch . Don ’ t allow worry or fear to consume you . We can ’ t cover , protect , or see everything . Taking on that level of power and control will only overwhelm you because we weren ’ t called to be God . We are called to believe , have faith and trust in God ’ s promises for us .
Questions to Ponder
Fear causes us to focus on what could go wrong instead of what could go right . As you prepare to launch into what God is calling you to do , in what ways can you remain in expectation of God ’ s promises ? ______________________________________________ ______________________________________________ ______________________________________________
The cultural view of success can look a lot differently from God ’ s view of success . Consider God ’ s definition of success for a moment . How can you align your view of success more closely with God ’ s view ?

Meditating on God ’ s faithfulness over the years fills our hearts with hope . Think about and write down three times where God has kept and sustained you .

I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called — his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance . ( Ephesians 1:18 , NLT )
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering , for he who promised is faithful . ( Hebrews 10:23 , ESV )
Being confident of this , that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus . ( Philippians 1:6 , NIV ).
