Secrets from the past and present run deep and dark
Easter 2000. Jay Swan and Mary are attempting to forge a new life together in a fading timber town still mired in racism and denial. With the trial of his father’ s murderer concluded, Jay has promised to put his pain behind him and join Mary in her mother’ s hometown as they care for Mary’ s niece, Anya, and await the birth of their first child. But it doesn’ t take long for the majesty of the surrounding forests to take on gothic dimensions.
After Jay rescues a distressed runaway boy who believes he’ s being haunted, a young child goes missing and a former nun drowns mysteriously in her own bath – Jay begins to realise the entire town of Loch Iris has been hiding a shadowy past that is still rippling through the present. Then a second victim is shot in broad daylight and Anya also goes missing. As Mary’ s distress becomes a threat to their unborn baby, Jay spirals into desperation.
