A tale of love , family and fabulousness
Gabriel and Andy are in a wonderful , solid relationship . Gabriel is the most extraordinary entertainer , captivating audiences with the power of his voice . Andy is the complete opposite : practical , nurturing , earthy , he works in payroll at a firm of accountants . They ’ ve decided it ’ s time to build a family and want to adopt . The adoption process requires an assessment from a social worker , Jackie . She ’ s keen to learn about their past to check they ’ re suitable , and Andy and Gabriel don ’ t know how to play it . Gabriel ’ s past is tricky ; he ’ s a recovering drugs and sex addict and has a difficult relationship with his father who never accepted he was gay . With things seemingly going well with Jackie , the couple attend an activity day with children who are up for adoption . They ’ re certain they ’ re looking for a girl between the ages of one and six , but fate drags them in another direction , and when seven-year-old Jake tells them off for swearing , they can ’ t help but bond with him . Lost Boys & Fairies is a modern and timely story of parenting and self-discovery as Gabriel faces his past , learns the real meaning of sacrifice , and discovers a deeper love than he ’ s ever known , for a child he never knew he wanted .
