Shanghai Panel Event

On December 7, 2017, the China Network and Stephenson Harwood co-hosted a panel discussion in Shanghai: "WOFES in distress: Perspectives from onshore and offshore."

The panel consisted of representatives from the IWIRC Chapters in China, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Lauren Tang and Eloise Fardon (both of Stephenson Harwood) shared knowledge with the Shanghai audience on what Singapore and Hong Kong have to offer as debt restructuring hubs. Claire Fulton (Mourant Ozanes; Hong Kong) spoke on perspectives on the latest developments on debt restructuring in the Cayman and BVI. Jocelyn Zhang (Ernst & Young; Shanghai) offered practical tips on restructuring in the PRC. Evangeline Quek was the moderator of this panel.

The event was attended by around 30 people in the insolvency and restructuring field.

Dallas/Fort Worth Network

Holiday Luncheon & Champagne Toast

The Dallas-Fort Worth Network held its annual Neiman Marcus Holiday Luncheon and Champagne Toast on December 8, 2017. Over thirty attendees, including members and non-members, enjoyed the amazing holiday buffet and lovely bubbles. At the Holiday Luncheon, our next event was born when a lively debate started regarding the best cake in the Dallas Fort Worth area.

Best Party Ever

On February 6, 2018, the Dallas-Fort Worth had the Best Party Ever. We had a cheese, cake, and champagne tasting. As you can see from the photos, there were many fantastic entries! We had approximately twenty members in attendance and enjoyed all the delicious food and champagne. We also held a fundraiser for the Akola Project (www.akolaproject.org). Through the purchase of beautiful jewelry, we were able to raise over $500 that will be used to provide work opportunities and training for women in poverty in Dallas and Uganda. The Akola Project also provides social programs that teach women how to use their income to create meaningful change in their families. This is sure to be an annual event on our calendar.
