Network Corner: Programming Ideas from the Ontario Network

IWIRC Ontario, previously IWIRC Canada, is Canada’s oldest network, having been established as IWIRC’s first international network. IWIRC Ontario, currently chaired by Melaney Wagner of Goodmans LLP, has been successful in attracting a diverse group of members, including corporate restructuring practitioners, consumer bankruptcy practitioners, insolvency legal counsel, work-out asset based funders and other turnaround advisors.

Through the hard work of our very active Board of Directors, including the Directors of Programming and committee members, and our engaged membership base, the IWIRC Ontario Network has held a number of successful events. We have focused on providing a diverse range of programming to attract a broad range of participants spanning from corporate practitioners to consumer practitioners and beyond, including educational programming and social networking events.

Our recent events have included an annual golf day, wine tasting (the latest with the fabulous “wine sisters”), table tennis tournaments, a gourmet cooking class and “lunch and learn” education seminars on recent insolvency cases and topics. The lunch and learn education seminars feature IWIRC members who were active in the cases highlighted, providing a summary of the important legal and financial aspects of the cases.
