Foley & Lardner LLP is seeking an Associate with 1-2 years of litigation experience (classes 2013-2014), or a Bankruptcy Law Clerk, to join the Bankruptcy & Business Reorganization Practice Group in our Chicago office as an Associate. The candidate must have at least 8 months experience serving as a law clerk for a bankruptcy judge in any of the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts. Candidates with an LLM in bankruptcy and the requisite clerkship experience are encouraged to apply. The candidate must have strong legal writing, oral communication, and litigation skills. Law firm experience is not required. Our ideal candidate will have had experience in chapter 11 bankruptcy cases and is committed to pursuing a position involving chapter 11 bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, and bankruptcy litigation. We are seeking a very well-rounded, motivated Bankruptcy Associate who is willing to work hard. Top academics and experience required. Foley & Lardner LLP – Chicago – Bankruptcy Paralegal

Position is to support attorneys in commercial bankruptcy and restructuring practice involving chapter 11 cases as well as related litigation. Required qualifications include: a Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA approved paralegal program or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Litigation; a minimum of five years of experience; and a strong background in commercial bankruptcy. The candidate must also have the following skills and abilities: demonstrated knowledge of legal terminology, legal documents, the legal process, electronic case filing, and electronic research technology (LexisNexis, Westlaw, Internet, etc.); proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and various other software and databases; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and high level attention to detail and organization skills.
