The Vanguard Snowflake
In time for the 2022 winter season , Franck Muller released its best-selling tonneau-shaped Vanguard collection with a wintery scene dominating its dial .
Inspired by Franck Muller ’ s own Watchland compound in Genthod near Geneva in the winter , the new Vanguard Snowflake features a sun-stamped dial adorned with appliqué relief snowflakes in rose gold or in a silver color , according to the case material .
Each snowflake is delicately cut , and all are unique on the dial , just like in real life . Franck Muller replaces the numerals on the dial with eleven scattered diamonds , though not equidistantly . This is meant to mimic the feeling of a real snowfall inside the timepiece .
The numeral 12 is the only one fully represented . This symbolizes December when the first snow typically arrives in Genthod .
Set with an automatic movement , the Vanguard Snowflake is available in stainless steel and rose gold , hand-set with and without diamonds . The Vanguard case here measures 32mm x 42.3mm x 9.9 mm , and is set with a curved sapphire crystal .
