Boutique A. LANGE & SÖHNE Odysseus A. Lange & Söhne adds a sixth collection with Odysseus, the German brand’s first regularly produced timepiece cased in stainless steel. On the dial the new 40.5mm case displays large day-of-week and date, both powered by a new automatic movement, the L155.1 Datomatic, which boasts fifty hours of power reserve. The watch’s three-part case features a sculpted, slightly cantilevered middle band while its surfaces are decorated with a satin finish and chamfered edges. The combination of brushed surfaces and chamfered edges is echoed on the lugs and links of the large, wholly new stainless- steel bracelet. Specially sealed, tapered buttons for correcting the date and the day of week are arranged at 2 and 4 o’clock. Among many premieres the watch represents for A. Lange & Söhne, the Odysseus is the first from the brand with a water-resistant case and a screw-down crown. Price: $28,800. IW RATING Design: 6 (out of 10) Traditional all the way.
