ULYSSE NARDIN HAS EXPANDED ITS NAUTICALLY INSPIRED
LINEUP TWICE IN RECENT MONTHS WITH TWO NEW
DIVER COLLECTIONS. ONE, THE ULYSSE NARDIN DIVER
CHRONOMETER 44MM, IS A DIVE WATCH OFFERED IN FOUR
NEW VERSIONS, TWO OF WHICH ARE SPECIALLY MARKED
LIMITED EDITIONS. THE OTHER IS ULYSSE NARDIN DIVER
CHRONOMETER 42MM, A RETRO-STYLED SELECTION OF
SEVEN SLIGHTLY SMALLER DIVE WATCHES THAT RETAIN
SEA-WORTHY SPECIFICATIONS.
UN CHRONOMETER 44MM
The new Ulysse Nardin Diver Chronometer features a pared down dial,
crown, buckle and bezel design within the watchmaker’s existing 300-meter
Diver collection while retaining its dive specs and chronometer rating.
With their 44mm titanium cases, the new Ulysse Nardin Diver
Chronometer is lighter than earlier gold or steel-cased Ulysse Nardin dive
watches. But they are also lighter visually, with the wave dial pattern replaced
by a flat black or blue color, solid rather than skeleton hands, fewer numbers
on the bezel and a basic crown flanked by less obtrusive rubber protectors
rather than the steel or gold of previous models. The concave, unidirectional
bezel also appears thinner due to a change from serrated grips along its outer
edge to a simpler notched design.

The collection’s streamlining also includes the rubber and titanium strap,
which Ulysse Nardin has reworked by replacing the deployant clasp with a
pin buckle and with just one Ulysse Nardin signature link, just below the case,
rather than two used previously.
In addition to the two ongoing blue and black versions, the lineup also
includes a Diver Great White and a Monaco Limited Edition, each with its
own insignia.
The Diver Great White, 300-piece limited edition with a great white shark
stamped on the case back and strap link, is the only model here with a solid
caseback. The gold-bezel Monaco Limited Edition features an image of the
Monegasque flag at 12 o’clock as well as ‘Monaco’ on the back, painted onto
the rotor. Its calendar disk features red numbers 26, 27, 29 and 29 that
reference the September dates of the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show.
Inside each Ulysse Nardin Diver Chronometer is the company’s in-house
UN-118 movement with its anti-magnetic silicon balance spring and a healthy
sixty hours of power reserve. Prices: $7,900 (Blue and black dials), $8,900
(Diver Great White) and $12,000 (Monaco Limited Edition)
