DIALED IN Horological News
BASELWORLD AND SIHH
SYNCHRONIZE DATES FOR 2020 AND BEYOND
Starting in 2020, the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in
Geneva (SIHH) and Baselworld in Basel, the two major events in the
watch industry, will synchronize their calendars. In 2020, the SIHH will
be held April 26-29 in Geneva, followed immediately by Baselworld
from April 30 to May 5 in Basel. The calendars have been synchronized
until 2024. The shows made the agreement in part to minimize the
travel expense and time for buyers traveling from overseas each year.
BULOVA BACKS TIME EXHIBIT IN NYC
The Children’s Museum of Manhattan has partnered with Bulova and
the Horological Society of New York to develop “It’s About Time,” a
new installation that explores the art and science of horology. The
exhibit is designed to help children and their adults explore time and
the different ways it is measured. Visitors can practice telling time by
manipulating three clocks with moving hands, pretend to be a clock,
insert their face in a cut-out and use their arms as the “hands” of an
over-size clock and see a watch broken into pieces that reveal its inner
workings and experiment with gears. The museum is located at 212
West 83 Street, in New York city.
Now with the third generation at its helm, Carl F. Bucherer in
late 2018 joined the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie (FHH)
as its 44th partner-brand.

Director, congratulates Sascha Moeri, CEO of Carl F. Bucherer.
