2019 WITH THE NEW 46.3MM TOURBILLON AMADÉO FLEURIER VIRTUOSO IX, Bovet again creates a complex tourbillon movement with a host of functions in the convertible Amedeo case. Here you’ll find off-centered hours, minutes, seconds (on the tourbillon), big date, power reserve indicator, second time zone with 24-hour hand and 24-city disc. The all-new Bovet caliber generates ten-day power reserve wound quickly thanks to a twice-patented spherical differential winding system. And all this is nicely proportioned with a stunning blue flinqué dial. Bovet explains that to create this dial, its artisans first guilloche the base material with a fan motif. Eight layers of translucent lacquer are then applied before the surface of the dial is polished. Bovet makes the watches with a red gold, white gold or platinum case. PIAGET ADDS AT LEAST THREE NEW ALTIPLANO watches to its collection of manual-wind ultra-thin timepieces. Two of the new pieces feature meteorite dials and the third offers a baguette-set bezel and markers. The Piaget Altiplano with grey/brown meteorite dial ($24,600) is set in a 40mm pink gold case and is limited to 300 pieces. The second meteorite dial, this time a blue one, is on the 41mm pink gold Piaget Altiplano Tourbillon (a 28-piece limited edition—price upon request) and the 36mm Altiplano with blue dial and diamond bezel/markers ($59,000) is a limited edition of twenty-eight. Prices noted are subject to change. 106 | INTERNATIONAL WATCH | WINTER 2019
