WATCHES
SIX SWATCH GROUP BRANDS, INCLUDING OMEGA, Jaquet Droz,
Breguet, Harry Winston, Blancpain and Glashütte Original, debuted
their 2019 models in May during a three-day press event in Switzer-
land. Among the highlights:
Breguet skeletonized one of its impressively thin tourbillon move-
ments, Caliber 581, to create the Classique Tourbillon Extra-Flat
Skeleton 5395. Additional Breguet debuts include three all-titanium
Marine models, several new Reine de Naples watches, a stunning
blue-dialed Marine model for women and a ladies Classique watch
with a mother-of-pearl guilloche dial – a premiere dial technique
for Breguet.
Jaquet Droz unveiled its first-ever Grande Seconde Chrono-
graph, an impressive monopusher chronograph in a 43mm red gold
case (a limited edition priced at 31,000 Swiss francs) or as an off-
center version in a 39mm or 43mm steel case with a choice of three
different dial hues. The watchmaker has also added a ceramic case
to its Grande Second Skelet One, updated its Grande Seconde Dual
Time with four new versions, debuted the Magic Lotus Automaton
with rotating animations, and has birthed the stunning Petite Heure
Minute Smalta Clara Hummingbird, a direct descendent of the brand’s
existing Charming Bird. Finally, look for two new Lady 8 models, one
with a malachite dial and one with a mother-of-pearl dial.
Glashutte Original’s many debuts include an entirely new collec-
tion, Spezialist, of vintage-inspired dive watches, including the SeaQ,
the SeaQ Panorama Date and SeaQ 1969. In addition to that highlight,
