RICHARD MILLE ADDS SECURITY SPRAY IN NY BOUTIQUE
Richard Mille is now using the Intruder Spray System by SelectaDNA at its New
York City boutique. The system uses the power of forensic marking science
to deter crime. If a crime is committed, it can assist law enforcement as they
identify, apprehend and prosecute criminals.
When the system is activated, the invisible, non-toxic and water-based
forensic solution remains on the marked criminal’s skin for four to six weeks
and on clothing for two to three months. The solution is only visible via a
special frequency U.V. light, leaving criminals exposed to identification and
apprehension well after leaving the crime scene. Each code provides an
uncontestable link between a criminal, or stolen item, to a specific crime scene
and date and time.
THE GPHG ADDS PRIZES FOR 2019
HSNY RAISES FUNDS FOR HOROLOGICAL EDUCATION
The Horological Society of New York (HSNY) celebrated 153 years at its annual Gala
& Charity Auction on April 17, raising more than $45,000 towards their mission of
horological education. In addition, $30,000 in scholarships was awarded to watchmaking
students and $10,000 was awarded to a watchmaking school. HSNY celebrated the year’s
horological accomplishments and awarded three $10,000 scholarships to watchmaking
students in the United States. The Henry B. Fried Scholarship, created to assist students
at full-time watchmaking schools, was presented to Aleksandra Halic (North American
Institute of Swiss Watchmaking in Dallas), Nural Amin ( York Time Institute in York,
Pennsylvania) and Gerard Connolly (a contingent student based in Boston.)
Also, HSNY pledged a $10,000 donation to the watchmaking school at The Texas
Institute of Jewelry Technology at Paris Junior College. The college, which is today one
of nine remaining full-time horological institutions in the United States, recently fell on
financial hardship. HSNY’s donation, which was matched by the American Watchmakers-
Clockmakers Institute (AWCI), will ensure that the institution continues to thrive and
produce certified watchmakers for years to come.
