DUAL-TIME WATCHES AREN’T REQUIRED TO
RELY ON AN OBVIOUS GMT HAND to indicate a
second timezone. For many, a watch that simply
displays two separate dials, each with its own
hour, minute and even seconds hand, is simpler to
read and more intuitive.
German-based watchmaker Alexander
Shorokhoff starts with that idea while also
maintaining the brand’s characteristic avant-
garde, colorful dial style on its latest watch,
called Levels.
The 46.5mm steel-cased dual-timer is named
to draw attention to its colorful, multi-level dial,
not its dual-time function. The latter is simply
the added value within a fun design showing
two different time displays, each with its own
personality. On the right, the home time is clearly
marked and includes an unusual two-sided central
seconds hand.
The second time indicator on the left makes a
claim to travel with a global view of the northern
hemisphere. Above that dial, a small rose gold-
plated bridge that has been vertically fixed by two
gold-plated screws holding a magnifying glass for
the calendar.
Two separate self-winding movements, each
visible from the back, power each Levels watch.
Limited to ninety-nine pieces with a blue dial and
with a silver dial, the Alexander Shorokhoff Levels
is sold with a soft ostrich strap in either tan or
black. Price: $3,800.
