Bulgari’s Octo Finissimo
Chronograph GMT, a late-breaking
Bulgari debut, sets another record
for ultra-thin watchmaking.
The new Serpenti Spiga blends
rose gold and brown ceramic.
Bulgari adds this two tone Octo Roma with rose gold
markers, octagonal steel and rose gold case and rose
gold crown with ceramic.
Lvcea Skeleton is forged in a white gold case set with sapphires and diamonds
around the bezel. A new Serpenti includes a new Spiga version that mixes
rose gold and brown ceramics, finished with a metallic sheen.
On the men’s side, the award-winning Octo Finissimo Tourbillon
Automatic is now fully dressed in carbon, the thinnest-ever automatic carbon
watch. The newly darkened version also adds a super lightweight carbon
bracelet that adds very little to the total 48-gram weight of the skeletonized
42mm watch with transparent sapphire caseback. And Octo now includes a
pair of two-tone rose gold with steel models to its Octo L’Original collection,
each made extra sporty with a rubber strap.
Now the thinnest mechanical chronograph, with its 3.30mm thick
mechanical manufacture GMT chronograph movement (Caliber BVL 318),
70 | INTERNATIONAL WATCH | SPRING 2019
the Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT , a Baselworld 2019 highlight from
Bulgari, measures 6.90mm thick, with a 42mm diameter titanium case and
sandblasted titanium dial. The debut underscores Bulgari’s reign as the top
maker of ultra-thin watches, with this latest the fifth ultra-thin model in as
many years. The new watch retains the still-unusual peripheral winding rotor
seen in last year’s record-breaking Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Automatic and
adds a GMT function (local time is set by the pusher at 9 o’clock). Bulgari’s
new ultra-thin movement is fully integrated and displays classic chronograph
functions. Price: $17,600.
