F. P. JOURNE
Tourbillon Souverain Vertical
To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the
legendary Tourbillon Souverain, F.P.Journe
has developed a tourbillon with a vertical cage
rather than a horizontal cage, which is the
traditional orientation. This vertical tourbillon
with remontoir d’égalité (constant force), which
dominates the gold dial at 9 o’clock, makes one
revolution every thirty seconds, faster than the
usual time of one minute.
Already capturing your attention, in
part due to its double-time beat, the vertical
tourbillon also stands out with assistance from
expert finishing. F.P. Journe wisely highlights
the component by surrounding the cage with a
cone-shaped mirror-polished ring that
concentrates light, reflecting the tourbillon cage.
A second reflector was created on the
movement side to provide light around the
tourbillon cage. The gold bridges that form the
dial are engraved, painted, and decorated with
“Clous de Paris” guilloché with, for the first time,
a grand feu enamel hour dial at 3 o’clock in
white gold.
Beyond the time and the outstanding views
of the all-rose-gold caliber (front and back), the
F. P. Journe Tourbillon Souverain Vertical also
features an 80-hour power reserve at 12 o’clock
and small deadbeat seconds at 6 o’clock; the
remontoir d’égalité is at 7 o’clock. The 42 mm
case is available in platinum or gold. Prices:
$242,000 (platinum) and $238,400 (gold).
