IWC PILOT’S WATCH WORN AT OSCARS AUCTIONED FOR CHARITY
In early March, after ten days of bidding online, the IWC Big Pilot’s Watch worn at the Oscars ceremony by Bradley Cooper was auctioned by
Sotheby’s for $60,000, with all proceeds from the auction going to the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation to benefit the Arrimage
workshop with visually impaired children. The Big Pilot’s Watch features a unique engraving of the quote from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s novel,
The Little Prince, on the back of its gold cas,: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly,” creating a link to the charitable cause that the
auction supports. “I am happy to see that the auction of the Big Pilot’s Watch during the Oscars received so much attention,” says Christoph
Grainger-Herr, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen. “Thanks to the generosity of the buyer, the Association Arrimage can continue their important and
impactful projects for visually-impaired children and teenagers.”
