DIALED IN Horological News BREITLING TEAMS WITH NORTON Breitling has announced a partnership with English motorcycle producer Norton Motorcycles that will lead to the creation of watches –and other products– that share the similar historic timelines of both brands. Look for watches that include some of the materials used in Norton Motorcycles’ high-performance bikes. Both Breitl ing and Norton Motorcycles are brands with a strong heritage, founded in the nineteenth century by visionaries who gave their names to their companies. When James Lansdowne Norton founded his company in 1898 and produced his first motorcycles in 1902, Léon Breitling had already been making watches in the Swiss Jura Mountains for more than a decade. BULOVA AT THE GRAMMYS Bulova presented each GRAMMY winner with a Limited Edition Bulova Precisionist timepiece as part of its part- nership with the GRAMMY Awards organization. The watch features a stainless steel case with a multilayer gold-tone custom alloy called Grammium, created by John Billings, the craftsman who creates the handmade gold gramophone statue presented to GRAMMY recipients at the awards ceremony in New York. The watch displays the medallion on the dial, showcasing the New York City skyline and 60th anniversary design detail. The commemorative watch is presented with a date and sweeping second hand proprietary to Bulova’s three-prong quartz crystal Precisionist movement. The watch is complete with an anti-reflective sapphire glass, screw-back case with GRAMMY logo and a black rub- ber and croco-embossed grey leather strap. The new Limited Edition 60th Anniversary GRAMMY timepiece is available for purchase ($1,150) at Macy’s Herald Square and Macys.com.
