SIHH 2018 The 42mm Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Chronograph is the sportiest of the new line, equipped with a tachymeter bezel and a steel case. JAEGER- LECOULTRE JAEGER-LECOULTRE THIS YEAR FOCUSES ALMOST ENTIRELY ON ITS NEW POLARIS COLLECTION , which updates the look and feel of the now fifty-year-old Memovox Polaris. The launch features a full range of 41mm, 42mm and 44mm timepieces: a three-hand auto- matic, a chronograph and a chronograph world time, as well as two vintage-design models: the Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date and the Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Memovox. Dials here are black or ocean blue, while the cases are entirely new. They combine brushed and hand-polished surfaces, sharp lugs and thin, rounded bezels. The large crowns, emblematic of the 1968 model, have been redesigned for better grip. Three models offer exhibition backs. Prices start at $6,600 (for the Polaris Automatic on a leather strap). This Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date offers a particularly strong link to the original Polaris from 1968. This watch uses the same design codes, including the off-white luminous glow, the triangle along with trapezoidal indices mixed with four Arabic numbers, a railway track for the minutes and features a date. Jaeger-LeCoultre has even created a glass box crystal to better evoke its vintage inspiration. The case back is closed and features an engraving of a SCUBA diver, similar to the engraving that was found on the inner case back of the 1968 model. >> 104 | INTERNATIONAL WATCH | SPRING 2018
