BREGUET’S TRADITION COLLECTION flaunts its old-fashioned open dial layout that exposes
the movement’s going train and escapement to recall traditional 18th century and 19th
century pocket watches. Last year, when Breguet added a 37mm jeweled white gold
model called Tradition Dame 7038, women cheered that a Tradition is finally being made
with a more feminine design. Hearing these accolades, Breguet at Baselworld 2017
expanded the Tradition Dame 7038 collection with this new rose gold model. Echoing that
earlier debut, the new watch’s offset and beautifully engraved white mother-of-pearl
dial again displays the time overlapping a central barrel decorated with a hand-engraved
rosette. In full view, the movement’s gear trains turn above a sandblasted mainplate and
rhodium-plated bridges. The bezel is set with 68 brilliant-cut diamonds, while a watch
jewel decorates the crown. The pieces is powered with Caliber 505SR with a hammer
shaped rotor (inspired by the early automatic winding mechanism invented by Breguet),
lever escapement with silicon pallets and a Breguet balance-spring, also made of silicon.

SERPENTI SPIGA
Few watches of any kind offer a bracelet as complex as Bulgari’s Serpenti, the snake-like collection the brand debuted in the late 1940s. The design really took off when Elizabeth Taylor was pictured wearing a Serpenti while filming
“Cleopatra” in 1962. This new version is primarily black, with a 35mm black ceramic case, black ceramic bracelet and a black lacquered dial. A pink gold bezel, markers and hands shine amid the ebony, and diamonds line the bezel.

LUCEA MOON PHASE
This collection for women features one of the most dramatic moonphase depictions we’ve seen on a watch this size. The mother-of-pearl dial reveals a sky alternately unveiling the new moon, the first quarter, the full moon and
the last quarter, and it does it with a choice of Intense blue, bright red or plum coloured: the sky around which the moon performs its steady rotations echoes the shade of the strap, while the pink or white gold 36mm case is
interpreted in versions with or without diamonds, as do the lugs. Inside is an automatic and fully decorated BVL 210 caliber.
