CHOPARD PLEDGES
COMMITMENT TO ETHICAL GOLD
CHOPARD ANNOUNCED THAT AS OF JULY OF THIS YEAR it uses 100% Ethical Gold in its jewelry and watches, responsibly sourced
from one of two traceable routes: Newly mined gold from small-scale mines participating in the Swiss Better Gold Association,
Fairmined and Fairtrade schemes, and Responsible Jewelry Council (RJC) Chain of Custody gold, through Chopard’s partnership
with RJC-certified refineries.
As part of Chopard’s commitment, all new High Jewelry Green Carpet Collection pieces presented at Baselworld will be made only
from Fairmined gold. This pledge also includes the L.U.C Full Strike watch and the Happy Palm watch.
”We are incredibly proud of being able to say that from July 2018 all of our gold will be purchased from responsible sources,” said
Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Co-President of Chopard at a press conference at Baselworld. “It is a bold commitment, but one that we
must pursue if we are to make a difference to the lives of people who make our business possible.”
