MAURICE LACROIX ADDS AIKON TO CHARITY AUCTION
Maurice Lacroix created a special version of its Aikon skeleton watch to be auctioned by Phillips to benefit TimeForArt , a watch auction charity that supports contemporary artists and public art education . The auction , Phillips ’ New York Watch Auction : ‘ Seven ’, is slated for December 10 and 11 .
For the special auction piece , Maurice Lacroix has worked closely with movement specialist Sellita to devise a new version of its automatic ML115 ( base SW200 ).
The watchmaker has applied a a special rainbow treatment to the movement plate and bridges . The oscillating weight has also been customized , incorporating sandblasted and sunbrushed decoration . Housed in a 39mm stainless steel case , the special Aikon is supplied with a matching bracelet and supplied with an additional black rubber strap .
A . LANGE & SÖHNE DONATES 1815 CHRONOGRAPH TO CHARITY AUCTION
A . Lange & Sohne has created a unique 1815 Chronograph Hampton Court Edition dedicated to raise funds for The Prince ’ s Trust , an educational and employment charity at a November auction .
The one-off watch combines several unique features previously not seen within the 1815 collection .
The watch offers a first-ever black dial with sandstone-hue numerals and scales within a 39.5mm by 11.8mm white gold case . Also new is the tachometer scale along the edge of the dial , created to underscore the link between motor sports and time measurement . The piece is held to the wrist with a black hand-stitched alligator leather strap secured with a white gold prong buckle .
The Glashütte-based watchmaker has fashioned a hinged cover for the watch , which it has hand-engraved with the logo of the Concours of Elegance , a partner with A . Lange & Söhne since 2018 .
Under the cover and dial you ’ ll find a Lange calibre L951.5 movement , initially launched in 2010 , featuring a column-wheel control , a jumping minute counter and a flyback function . The manually wound caliber has a power reserve of 60 hours .
