Omega Theta Omega Holds Pink Goes Red Workout
Abu Dhabi , UAE – Omega Theta Omega Chapter kicked off Pink Goes Red for Heart Health month with a “ Move Your Body ” workout session . The program was virtual however the sweating and beating hearts were not ! Seventeen participants from the chapter and community participated and were also educated during a health and wellness session . The February 5th event was only the beginning of the month ' s activities . The Pearls in Action Workout Challenge had five teams competing with a total of 25,992 fitness minutes . Congratulations to winning team Fit4Life .
Sigma Theta Omega Hosts Healthy Living Events
St . Thomas , VI – Sigma Theta Omega Chapter hosted a series of events which promoted healthy eating to lower the risk of heart disease and help to prevent diseases such as breast cancer . The chapter hosted a " Pink Goes Red Culinary Cuisine : A Virtual Cooking Competition ." Participants were given chicken breast , cauliflower , carrots , broccoli , arugula , and brown rice and instructed to create a healthy meal . Entrants created healthy dishes such as grilled chicken with roasted vegetables and airfried chicken breast with fresh broccoli . The entries were posted to the chapter ' s Facebook & Instagram pages . The entry with the most " likes " was declared the winner . Prizes awarded included gift cards , wine cards , a blood pressure machine , first aid kits , and a glucose machine . During Breast Cancer Awareness month last year , the chapter hosted a " Pink Breast-ober Virtual Cooking Class " featuring Chef Julius Jackson , a talented local chef and celebrated boxer . The featured dish was salmon pasta . Chef Jackson guided the 20 plus attendees through the preparation of the dish , giving tips and other advice along the way .
