In the New Year , I challenge you to trust that your leadership will do the right thing regarding brand protection and reputation management . I ask that you do your part by telling our story and galvanizing around issues that matter .
• Tell the world that we have partnered with such entities as the NAACP , When We All Vote , the Poor People ' s Campaign , and League of Women Voters to bring about social change .
• Tell the world that organizations like NCNW , AARP , the American Heart Association , Soles for Souls , to name a few , have helped us expand our outreach by aiding us to feed , clothe , and provide educational awareness to families and communities . In many instances , we have probably saved lives .
• Tell the world that we have partnered with the Abbott Foundation and Walgreens to conduct pop-up health events across the country . As a result , we have delivered over 2,000 free breast cancer exams to the uninsured using our mobile mammography unit . We have also provided more than 1,100 COVID-19 vaccinations , 1,500 tests , and nearly 100 booster vaccines . In total , we delivered more than 6,000 health services this year .
• Tell the world that over 222,000 of our members have supported HBCU initiatives . We even raised over 2.6 million dollars in one day in support of HBCUs .
Then tell them of our demands :
• Everyone in this country should have the right to vote without jeopardizing their health or fearing election tampering or voter suppression .
• Our sorority , churches , schools , businesses , and even our homes must become sanctuaries to inspire children to learn , grow , and achieve .
• All children must have access to a quality education because being educated is a human and fundamental right that should never be compromised .
• Individuals in our communities must have the opportunities for a decent job and excellent and affordable healthcare .
• Lastly , no matter our sex , race , creed , religion , or political party – we treat each other with respect .
