Interview IML:- Are there any people or personal experiences that influence what you create?? 6 SH:- My dad got me interested in music at a very young age. I would say before I was 10. He was a musician and bass player in numerous gospel bands growing up. I started in singing in church shortly after that. Many artists have influenced my singing and songwriting, in both pop and country. The 80’s have had the biggest influence on my singing but as for songwriting, I like to write mostly current sounding mainstream pop and country. Artists that have influenced me the most would probably be Prince, Madonna, Michael Jackson, The Eagles, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Backstreet Boys, NSync, Def Leppard, Shania Twain, Reba McEntire, any of the big hair bands from the 80’s like Bon Jovi, etc., the list goes on and on. IML:- Tell us about your career. Where and when it started?? SH:- I started singing in church when I was just a little girl. Then developed it more in high school and sang in the local Miss Moore County Pagaent. Then I started entering karaoke contests and winning and going tosing karaoke a lot. Then, I started writing my own songs when I was around 20 yrs. old and I haven’t stopped since. IML:- Let us know how ItzMyLife has or in the future could help you grow & develop your career?? SH:- Itz My Life will help me gain new fans and also help keep my current fans in the know. IML:- What does the future have in plans for you / your company?? SH:- I pitch my songs to major labels and major artists and also some up and coming or newly signed artists. I’d like to continue to do that and start getting some major label song cuts. I had 2 holds recently with major artists, Celine Dion and Josh Groban. So, I know my songs are good enough to get in the door with the major artists. My ultimate music dreams are to win a few grammys for songwriting. So, I strive to make each song I write a hit song that will either make you want to get up and boogy or make you feel something emotionally and connect with the song.
