Did COGIC Make One of Its Own a Causality
War Creating Retaliation
What seemed to be one of the most profound and anointed messages at the
COGIC Holy Convocation 2014 turned
into war, due to unfortunate circumstances. More thought and consideration
should have gone into the reaction from
organizational leaders, a better outcome
could have taken place. Instead, COGIC
Leadership attacked one of it’s own in
order to preserve public reputation which
is not the way to handle an unclear
situation.
The pastor’s message was biblical and
clear, yet one part of the message, was
offensive and was blown out of portion.
When the altar call was made a young
came to the altar received prayer and
afterwards was given the microphone by
a ministry worker to make a public declaration, of deliverance. This video went
viral and had absolutely nothing to do
with the Pastor’s message, and was not
his fault. Instead of weighing the matter
carefully, leadership made a quick reaction by publically denouncing the pastor’s
message in lieu of public scrutiny or law
suits.
What was not understood is that this individual made a public statement, without being forced to so therefore the
church isn’t liable.
What was done to this Pastor was careless, and insensitive because he was informed that his message might receive
some heat for the touchy statement, but
was not given the opportunity to make a
public correction or apology. Instead, he
was reprimanded publically which hurt
this pastor and caused him to retaliate
against the leadership of the church by
making defaming remarks by video.
This fiasco could have been prevented
by the church not making this Pastor a
causality of war. We make the statement “No Weapon formed against
shall prosper” then we should be
believe that and realize that the church
will suffer, persecution for righteousness
sake, and we can’t go after our own
solider to win the battle because it
doesn’t work that way. What many
consider a great message, and leadership’s reaction to has cause one of it’s
own to retaliate out of hurt and disregard for their integrity.
What we say to the Pastor is let it go
and forgive we all have been misunderstood, and some point in our lives and
we must forgive or neither will our heavenly, father forgive us, it’s better to suffer, wrong rather than do wrong so,
Pastor please it’s time to let it go and
move on.
