Integrating SFIA with other frameworks
By Matthew Burrows
Accredited SFIA Partner and trainer, BSMimpact, recently ran a SFIA event in the UK. It was a full day event providing both an IT and an HR focus for attendees. The objective was to showcase the many ways SFIA can be used within organisations, from understanding the skills you have and the skills you need, to identifying training needs, developing role descriptions, and integrating with other frameworks.
Interestingly, the presentation rated highest by attendees was“ SFIA in Digital Transformation”, which talked about integrating SFIA with other frameworks such as COBIT and SIAM, and provided examples of where this has worked well. 88 % of the attendees rated this presentation as Excellent, with the remainder rating it Satisfactory.
Some of the comments about this session included:
“ Loved the COBIT and SFIA layer idea”
“ Integration with SIAM and CoBIT should be made available to the whole SFIA community”

This feedback highlights that people are really interested in how they can maximise the value of SFIA, and are keen to understand how to embed SFIA into their organisations and existing frameworks.
