itSMF Denmark honorary member in 2016:
Bo " Lean " Nielsen
By Flemming Kjærsdam
Bo " Lean " Nielsen has been appointed itSMF Denmark ' s first honorary member. It is very much deserved. There have been several milestones in his volunteer efforts for our association. He was co-founder of itSMF Denmark.
" Who would try to form an association as itSMF?" He once asked me. As the expert he is, he answered his own question: " We were a group that could; amongst others, me."
" I had just taken over the Service Management Consultant responsibility at Hewlett Packard and our salesman thought I should be presented to the operations manager at Post Denmark( Danish Mail), a person named Christian F. Nissen. I had never heard of the man before, but he seemed to be reasonably sympathetic " wrote Bo in an article in the Danish itSMF newsletter, published in conjunction with the association ' s 10th anniversary.
Bo had previously helped launching the Danish Unix User Group( DKUUG) and been one of the first Board members and therefore felt he could share a little of his experience with startup of user groups.
This is the reason behind Bo joining the itSMF DK first Board. Bo said: " The work in the Board was in good order, although we were colleagues from competing companies. To begin with, we looked at each other. Was there anyone who used itSMF as a platform to sell their own services? Healthy skepticism seasoned with a little suspicion is always good, but I do not think there was anyone who misused itSMF, or maybe I just didn’ t discover ".
Bo also participated in arranging the first Danish itSMF conference. The conference took place at IBM March 4, 2003 with the theme " ITIL why and how?" There were many participants, I do not remember the number, but I clearly remember that the Board Chair was quite pleased with himself. Later was a conference committee was formed with the responsibility to plan the next conference. Members were, Jan Øberg, Jane Tolstrup and Rikke Vogelsang and undersigned. Now the itSMF DK developed with book sales, user groups and much more. The work we now are continuing. Bo was member of the first itSMF Board in Denmark and here he was a cherished vice chairman.
In 2012, Bo- because of his very extensive knowledge of Lean and Service Management- was asked if he would join the editorial board of itSMF newsletter. It took him about five seconds before he answered YES. Since then he has been an appreciated member of the editorial board.
Bo has also been actively involved in several universities concerning IT education, including Master in IT leadership at ITU in 2005 as well as affiliated with the Alexandra Institute on IT leadership.
In his spare time Bo enjoys winter bathing and during the season he is a committed sailor. Enjoy life, Bo. Thank you for your effort.
Once again, congratulations with the title and honor as the association ' s first honorary member.
The new chair of itSMF Denmark:
Fie Halberg
“ I’ m looking forward to the challenge”
By Flemming Kjærsdam
Fie Halberg has entered the Chair for itSMF Denmark.” First of all I would like to thank the Board for the trust the have shown me by electing me as the new Chair for our magnificent association. I’ m looking forward even more with all of you” are the words from Senior Contract Consultant Fie Halberg from SimCorp Group Procurement.
The former vice chair is now the new Chair. The former Chair Michael Imhoff Nielsen, Senior ITSM Consultant at Microsoft, has after four years as Chair stepped back and handed over the chair to Fie Halberg. Michael Imhoff Nielsen has since May 2016 be part of the itSMF International Executive Board.
“ It’ s a pair of big shoes I’ m entering. I think we owe a big thank you to Michael for his impressive engagement, tireless effort as Chair for the past four years” says Fie Halberg.
The Board is planning a workshop day for all volunteers 28 itSMFI Forum Focus— December 2016
February or March 2017.
“ On this day we will engage all bright minds and identify some thoughts and ideas on what we as an association must focus on moving forward delivering value to our members.
Comparing the new Board to the past Board there is one change in addition to the move between Chair and Vice-Chair. Marie Terp Mester from Lundback has left the Board and has been replaced by Caspar Miller from JN Data.
“ A great thanks to Marie for her contribution and we are pleased that Caspar has offered to take over” says Fie Halberg. A complete organizational diagram with the new Board and Chairs of the sub committees have been made. It will be made available at http:// www. itsmf. dk / ItSMF- Danmark / Generalforsamling. aspx shortly.
