An early welcome to the 25th  Annual Service Management Conference, to be held in Melbourne on the 21st & 22nd August 2024 at Pullman on the Park, East Melbourne.  We have looked to our itSMF members and conference attendees to tell us what our service management community is curious about and what content they would like to see delivered by their industry peers at Service Management 2024. The ideas are below.

It is not an exhaustive list – more a preview into the types of topics and themes service management professionals are keen to share, learn and listen to.

Another valuable feedback loop we have received is the value in the networking opportunities that are gained from attending conference, so again in 2024 we are creating space to connect with each other. Three refreshment and lunch break times during the two conference days, welcoming, end  of day and farewell get togethers and the annual itSMF Australia Industry Awards Dinner on Tuesday August 21 being held at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Although we are still a while away from formally opening submissions, we invite you to start thinking about Service Management 2024 and whether any of the themes below, or one of your own choosing is something you would be keen to share next August.

Do you have a story to tell? Experiences to share? Would you like to facilitate an interactive session or workshop? Or host a fireside chat?

If you are keen to start planning out your 2024 submission, each session will be 45 minutes duration.

Themes from the community:

·        Service management for the future – how do we approach and advance service management, what do we need to do, what do we think the future is?

·        Service management/service operations careers – how do we make it more appealing or interesting as a career choice?

·        Fireside chats – create an intimate setting to tackle big questions.

·        More firsthand storytelling, fewer theoretical concepts

·        Interactive sessions/workshops – perhaps with pre advised themes.

·        Deep dives into market/industry trends, what are we seeing, what are we sensing is changing or coming?

·        Configuration and asset management, share your story and approach, has anyone *really* nailed this?!

·        AI and ITSM – who is doing it, what are the benefits, what are the gotcha’s?

·        Automation, orchestration, and integration – what do great use cases look like?

·        Service experience, how to measure it, how to get customers to care about it.

We look forward to sharing more information with you as we plan Service Management Conference 2024, and hope to see you in Melbourne, August 2024.

Regards, Janet Holling, Conference Director
