FROM THE

CHAIR

🌼 Spring Reflections

& Strategic Renewal

How nice it is to watch the season transition into spring – the canola is flowering, and the blossoms are lush and proud here in my corner of Australia, near Geelong, Victoria. Spring brings growth and renewal, not just for ecosystems but for us as well. With longer daylight hours and warmer temperatures, many of us find more time outdoors, improved energy, and a lift in mood.

As we embrace this seasonal shift, it’s also a great time to refresh our workspaces. Consider a spring clean of your home office: dust off the winter, open the windows, swap out the books on your shelf, and commit to stepping outside for two minutes whenever you can to soak up some delicious vitamin D—face beaming at the sun.

🧭 Strategic Planning in Full Bloom

The itSMFA Board and State Branch Chairs recently gathered for our annual face-to-face meeting in late August. Together, we’ve been spring cleaning our to-do lists and refreshing our strategic direction. We’re currently developing a three-year strategic action plan focused on:

  • Financial performance and revenue

  • Member value

  • Practitioner value

  • As a member-based not-for-profit organisation, our goal is to work smarter—not harder—on the services, offerings, and guidance we provide. Throughout October and November, we’ll continue refining this plan and sharing updates with you, our valued members.

💬 We Want to Hear From You

Your insights matter. If you have suggestions, thoughts, or comments on our strategic themes, please reach out to us at info@itsmf.org.au

Until next time, may your face be filled with sunshine.

    Go well, be well,

    Janet
