FROM THE

ACTING CHAIR

Dear Members

First off I am very pleased to report that Brad Busch, itSMF Australia Chair, is making good progress in his recovery. As previously reported, Brad was seriously injured in a bike accident and we’re all very happy now that he’s home and in the care of his family. He has asked that I pass on to all our members his gratitude and sincere thanks for all the support and well wishes shown to him over these past few weeks.

As for myself, I am proud to act in the role of Chair of itSMF Australia until Brad is ready to return, and am grateful for the support of the Board and the staff in the National Office. That support has been instrumental in the continued smooth operation of your itSMF Australia forum and is a testament to the talent and abilities of your Board members and the staff in the National Office.

The itSMFA ‘Unconvention’ - our first ever virtual Conference is only weeks away and registration is now open. It is the first time we have run such an event, many thanks to the fantastic work of the Conference Committee and State Branch Chair’s in pulling it all together.

Also, a huge ‘Thank You’ to our sponsors this year - more than ever we appreciate your continued support in what has been a difficult time for all.

We have a great line-up of speakers and panellists and this promises to be a great day of learning and connecting. All done ‘Virtually’ of course, (although I am hearing some States are trying to put on physical events where allowed) but we’ve cut our teeth on the on-going Virtual State Events and these have been an outstanding success, so the format holds no fears for us – on the contrary, this is an innovation we have taken to heart.

So, make sure you register, and make sure you ‘tune in’ to your ‘Unconvention’ – it’s our moment to shine – Virtually!

I’d like to finish by encouraging the itSMF community, our community, to make sure you reach out to the people in your circle – although that light at the end of the tunnel is now shining much brighter, for some these remain difficult days – don’t leave them thinking they’re alone.

Enjoy your Bulletin.
