The world needs saving. Hunger (in some countries), Obesity (in others), the Climate Chaos, Pollution and Wars plague our planet. Can we apply Service Management practices to save the world?

Can we apply the practices and mindset of Service Management to address the big issues? If not to solve them, but to move the dial a little in our favour. Consider:

 

·      Capacity and Demand Management to better manage the limited resources, reduce waste and over-usage

·      Incident and Problem Management to respond to oil spills and clean-ups.

Coordinate efforts to reduce the impact of such events, and get ahead with agreed automatic responses

·      Change and Release Management where any change must undergo the ‘good for all’ and ‘good for the planet’ test before being approved

·      Capacity and Availability Management to better distribute the world food supply.
