Dear members,

Our 24th National Conference was held earlier this month under the clear blue Adelaide skies.  This conference was especially special for me, as it was held in my adopted hometown of Adelaide for the very first time, at the Adelaide Convention Centre.  What a fantastic event it was.  Full of learning, fun and community.

We delivered over 30 speakers, selected from across the itSMF community, both nationally and internationally, with speakers and delegates travelling from Greece, Finland, Germany, and South Africa.

This year the theme was XYZ BOOM, where we celebrated Service Management through 4 generations of people dedicated to designing, delivering, and continuously improving services to customers, and our two invited speakers, Karen Ferris and Peter Doherty, have been involved in the industry since the start 😊 (Sorry Kaz & Pete – just winding you up).

Our Conference Director and MC (MC JHo) did an excellent job of keeping us all on track, adding humour and fun along the way.  The banter started early with a Welcome To Country from Jack Buckskin in traditional

dress, but a not so traditional ‘Welcome to Country” to our delegates with a little bit of SA vs VIC banter thrown in along the way. Our two keynote presenters, Lucy Bloom and Daryl Green, also delivered inspirational talks which covered the entire emotional spectrum. The Annual Gala Dinner Awards were held at the fantastic Adelaide Oval.  The gala awards are an opportunity to showcase the best of the service management community.  The venue, the food, the band were all amazing.  And a huge congratulations to all our winners.

Finally, I would like to thank the huge sponsor support once again for our conference.  Without sponsorship it would be very difficult to hold such a successful event and we look forward to partnering with you again next year.

Planning is already underway for Melbourne 2024.  Let’s build on the success of this year and make it even bigger and better next year.

Enjoy the bulletin!
