Dear Members
The Annual General Meeting of ITSMF Australia was held on May 23rd.
I was extremely humbled and honoured to be nominated and re-elected as the organisation’s Chair for another term - I feel there’s still quite a bit I want to achieve and areas where I would like to improve.
I’m delighted to be able to welcome the following members of my Executive team – ‘our team’ really!
Janet Holling is the Deputy Chair and the Conference Director – two big jobs, but as she demonstrated with this year’s conference, she’s more than capable of executing these assignments with skill and professionalism whilst making it fun in the process.
Harry Powell continues in the vital role of Treasurer – this is a strategically important position given we’re coming off the back of a difficult period. The future looks brighter, and I am quite certain Harry will safeguard the financial security of the Forum.
Peter Tonkin will also continue in the position of Secretary – given the legal framework in which an organisation like ours operates, the importance of this role is difficult to overstate. I am very pleased to
have Peter oversee our obligations regarding things such as financial reporting and corporate governance oversight.
On a slightly different note, I would like to extend my personal thanks, and best wishes to Ian Smith & Brad Schimmel who have stepped down as ACT and VIC/TAS State Branch Chairs respectively.
Ian and Brad have both done a terrific job, and they will be missed. Thankfully both will still be part of the local committees and supporting the new State Chairs.
Sue Lamont from Fujitsu has stepped up to take over as ACT State Branch Chair and Sam Mackenzie from Stonnington City Council will be taking over the leadership of the Victoria/Tasmania chapter. All the best Sue & Sam – I’m sure you’ll both do awesome!
I made mention of Janet as the Conference Director; well in 2024 we will be returning to Melbourne for the first time since 2017. We are very close to signing contracts, so keep an eye out for the dates and venues being confirmed in the very near future.
Enjoy the bulletin!
