someone to achieve their goals.
Another ITSM concept which I use on a daily basis is Problem Management. We all have problems in our lives, and which is sometimes unavoidable. So, we all should know how we should deal with our problems by effective Problem Management techniques.
What do you see as the biggest challenge or ‘next big thing’ for ITSM professionals over the next couple of years and what do we as ITSM professinals need to do to address these challenges/opportunities?
I see the emerging new technologies and various best practice frameworks as the biggest challenge or ‘next big thing’ for ITSM professionals. The challenge is not just how many new technologies or best practice frameworks we have but we as ITSM professionals should know how we can work alongside with other best practice frameworks to create value.
What's the most valuable piece of advice you have been given in your professional career?
The best advice I received during my early consulting days is that “Don’t come with problems, come with solutions”. This advice did help me to become more proactive, accountable and solution oriented in the early days of my career. If you ask me today, I wouldn’t 100% encourage this advice as this type of environment might discourage identifying or highlighting potential problems and hence miss out on opportunities for improvements.
What advice would you give young people who have chosen a career in technology?
Irrespective of career in technology, my advice would be to “Always take the responsibility for the consequences of your choices in life”.
What do you like to do when you are not working?
I can spend hours watching programs related to food, travel and nature. I have a dog park next to my house where I usually go to unwind myself as I am a big-time dog lover person and I am eagerly waiting to get my first dog.

One word that could describe your experience of itSMF Australia?
Value
Have you ever been to an itSMF Conference, if so what was your conference experience like and do you have a lasting memory?
I have attended the itSMF Conference twice to date, the first one was last year (2018) in Canberra and the second time in Brisbane this year (2019).
The conference experience was great, right from the drinks party the day before and then the following two days which were packed with some great presentations and meeting some awesome people in the industry who are always willing to share their knowledge and experience.
