FROM THE CEO

Hi

I commenced working for itSMF Australia in April 2014 and I will complete my engagement on December 31st.

Originally hired on a short-term engagement to drive some marketing initiatives for the Melbourne 2014 Conference I was kept on when it ended and following on from Bruce Harvey’s move to part-time work I took over from him.

At 66 (and a bit!) it is time for me to move onto other things and next year will see me moving to Castlemaine in the Goldfields area of Victoria for what will be an entirely new chapter in my life.

I depart leaving a vibrant community, a brilliant staff and an engaged and dedicated Board – all great signs for the future. As well of course, and this is vitally important, I also acknowledge the fantastic contribution I expect the State Committees will play in the coming years as they continue to deliver industry specific learning to an appreciative and expanding audience.

When I took over as CEO I saw a need to completely re-jig the National Conference and working with your Board and the Conference Committees we have produced one of the world’s most highly regarded Service Management events.

As I leave, you are on the verge of another significant re-jigging of Conference with a new event company assisting us and we’re returning to Canberra. All good signs.

Importantly signs that your Conference Committee is willing to back themselves and take a risk – given the biggest risk of course is keeping on doing the same thing over & over again.

So, as I head to the bush, forging a new life for myself, my thoughts, best wishes and fond memories remain with you - the community we know as itSMFA.
