Dear members

It has been a long time in the making but we are now only 4 weeks out from our National Conference, our biggest event, and a fixture on the international service management calendar.

Our conference is remarkable for bringing together our community and is our best opportunity to create connections with like-minded professionals from not just across the country but also internationally. Who would have thought just a month ago we would have visitors from The Netherlands and the UK being able to attend??

Our conference will also be a chance to reflect on the significant contribution that Australian IT and specifically the Service Management profession made during the COVID-19 period.  Many of our colleagues have been critical to State, Territory and Federal government IT COVID programs that enable everything from contact tracing, rapid test results and vaccine rollouts.  Service Management is also behind every Australian who has been able to continue to work from home and maintain employment during this period.

Janet Holling and her amazing conference committee have created an exciting program with a mix of presenters this year who will stretch how we see ourselves in the industry, how we have evolved, what’s on the horizon and in some cases what might be beyond the horizon.  All this takes place in an atmosphere of support, learning and camaraderie.

I once had a well renowned international keynote presenter say to me at a conference gala dinner that “There maybe

bigger conferences overseas, but there are none more exciting and fun than yours” – we deserve this conference, let’s own it!

Once more we have enjoyed and are extremely grateful for the terrific support from our sponsors and you can visit them here: 2022 Sponsors.  I strongly encourage you to do that, but I’d like to add my personal thanks to each and every one of them and express my appreciation on behalf of all members for their continued support.

This year we welcome a number of organisations who are sending groups of attendees this year, including Rio Tinto, University of Southern Queensland, Queensland University of Technology, Suncorp, Thales, Department of Transport and Main Roads Qld & NBNCO.  We thank them for their significant commitment in supporting their staff to develop professionally and connect with the wider service management community.

There is still time left to join us and these leading brands and to avail yourselves with the fantastic group discounts, including the fantastic 3 for 2 offer!

I look forward to welcoming you to the conference, to catching up with you personally and to renewing and forming new friendships.

See you in March, in Brisbane!

Enjoy your Bulletin
