Peter Marshall
Dedication spanning over 15 years:
Open letter and personal thank you
from Bradley Busch, itSMF Chair
Dear Peter
You have been a leading member of the
Queensland itSMF State Branch for over 15
years, and for most of that time have held the
office of Chairman. Your active and ongoing
participation in offsides and contribution to the
wider Forum have been very much appreciated
by all. This is an incredible achievement and one
I want to sincerely thank you for.
It has been largely due to your efforts and your
stewardship that the Queensland Branch
has attracted a steadily growing number of
attendees to its seminar program and has
reached the point of having eclipsed every
other state and territory in attendance.
It was an already healthy average of around 50
registrations in 2002, but it now typically sits at
twice that number. In reaching this milestone
you and your branch have consistently exceeded
any participation objective placed before you –
again, an incredible effort.
Your engagement with the Forum has
of course extended well beyond the
management of the seminar program. Many
members will recall your great work in
2012 skillfully managing the presentations
program, speakers, session chairs and room
monitors for the National Conference of that
year.
Our most recent Conference was also in
Brisbane and once again the Queensland Branch
excelled with over 70 local members registering
to attend.

I appreciate that your focus is and has always been
to the Branch and as such you have turned down
many opportunities to nominate for the Board of
Directors. Nevertheless your active contribution at
state branch chairs meetings and face to face
meetings has been outstanding. Among the board
and other Chair’s you are very highly regarded.
Your impact and reputation has extended well
beyond the borders of your home state.
I would like to extend to you a personal note of
thanks, and on behalf of the wider membership I
would like to wish you the very best for your
future. I was heartened to note that while you have
stepped aside from the Queensland Chair role, you
will remain an active and engaged member of the
Committee.
Best wishes, and many thanks,
Bradley Busch,
Chairman, itSMF Australia
