On Sept. 24th there was an explosion and fire at the PennAKem plant located in the Douglass community of North Memphis. This tragedy took the life of Mr. Gregory McKnight and left Mr. Jeff Laird fighting for his life. The community of Douglass was left stunned to say the least after the incident. A community meeting was held in the Douglass to bring the residents up to speed with the information that was available at the time. State Representative Antonio Parkinson pulled representatives from the PennAKem plant, area pastors, health and Fire Department representatives, community leaders and residents together to discuss the available information and to provide resources for residents with questions and concerns. Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to the McKnight and Laird families during this difficult time.

We're mad as hell and we've only been speaking out at them in anger, kidding ourselves and trying to do things in our own way. We've tried so hard to replace and duplicate the man (in ourselves) to the point that we've started looking and acting like men in some ways. We're a mess, and we've come undone. For so long, we've acted like a man, worked like a man, thought like a man, fought like a man and now have even started having sex like a man. We're acting completely out of our universal nature by doing all of this. We're feminine, we're soft and pink. We weren't MADE to tussle with the lions, tigers and bears. Even Jane understood that when she looked upon Tarzan. But what about Eve in the garden of Eden? Was that where we went wrong; when she lead Adam astray? We are mad about working equally alongside men. We really are. However, most women are way too bullheaded and full of selfish pride to ever admit to that. We're mad about the men not being the head of the household, not carrying the bulk of the weight upon his back, not taking out the trash, walking the dog, feeding the cat, leaving enough money on the table to buy groceries AND that dress we wanted, not even trying to get a job...or find a way to get a better one so they can keep up with the Jones or the Kardashians, not putting his family in their place and keeping his mama out of their business, not resisting that other woman's sexual advances...telling the truth about whether or not that was his baby, walking out that door and not paying her neither ‘₯±ΝΥΑΑ½ΙΠ½Θ Ήδ ΅Έ ΡΡΉΡ₯½ΈΈΈΉΉ½Π±½Ω₯Ή‘Θ½ΙΩΘ°±₯‘ΑΙ½΅₯Ν ΉΝέ½ΙΡΌ½‘έ½Υ±Έe °]Ι΅ ½ΥΠ ±°½Ρ‘ Π° ΉΝΌ΅Υ ΅½ΙΈ]Ω ΙΙ₯ ±°½Ρ‘Ν ΉΥ₯Ν‘Μ ΉΙΝΉΡ΅ΉΡΜ°‘±Ρ‘΄έ δΡ½Ό±½Ή₯Έ½ΥΘ½Ν½΄ ΉΙ½Ρ‘΄ΡΌΝ±ΐ±₯ δΈ]ΩΙ₯½ΥΙΝ±ΩΜΡΌΝ±ΐ°έ ±₯ΈΡ½Ρ °±½Ή±₯ΉΝΜ ΉΑΙ εΡΌ½½Θ½ΥΘ΅ΈΡΌΠΡΡΘΈΈΉΥΠΡ‘δΩ½Ή±δΝ΅ΡΌ‘ Ω½ΡΡΈέ½ΙΝΈ]ΩΈΝΡ½½δΡ‘΄έ‘ΈΡ‘δΝΙΡΥΜΡΌΡ ΝΡΡ‘ Π½Ι₯ΈΙΥ₯Π°Ρ‘έ‘₯Ρέ½΅ Έ°΅ ₯ΉΥΜΡ‘₯Ή¬Ρ‘ ΠΝ‘έ ΜΝ½΅‘½άΝΌ΅Υ ΡΡΘΡ‘ ΈΥΜΈ]΅ ₯ΉΡ ₯Ή½ΥΘ₯Ή₯Ρδέ‘Έ‘έΉΠΡ‘Ι½Υ Ρ‘ Πέ‘½±Ρ‘ΥΑΙ₯½₯ΈΡ‘± ΡδΐΜ ΉΉ½ά‘Μ₯Έέ₯Ρ Ρ‘½΅΅½Έέ‘½Ι ΉΈΈΉ Ή½Ρ‘Θ΅ ΈΈ]ΙΉ½Π½Ή±δ΅ °ΥΠέΙΉ½ά ±ΝΌΙ Ω±δ₯ΉΝΥ±ΡΈ!½ά Έέ½΅ΑΡέ₯Ρ Ήδ½Ρ‘ Πό]Ω₯ΉΡΙΉ ±₯ι₯Π ±° Ή ±±½έ₯ΠΡΌΙ ΡΝΡ ΄έ₯Ρ‘₯ΈΥΜ±₯ΑΙΝΝΥΙ½½ΘΈ]Ι΅ Μ‘±°° ΉέΙΡ ₯Ή₯Π½ΥΠ½ΈΩΙδ΅ ΈΡ‘ Π½΅Μ ±½Ήέ‘ΌΙ΅₯ΉΜΥΜ½Ρ‘½Ρ‘Θ΅Έ½Ι‘₯΄έ‘Ό‘ΥΙΠΥΜΈΈΉΝΡΙ½εΥΜΈΈΉ΅ ΥΜΙδ ΉΉΩΘΝΥΑΑ½ΙΡ½ΥΘΙ ΅Μ Ή ½ΙΠ½ΥΘ ΅₯Ρ₯½ΉΜΈ]Ι΅ ₯Ή΅ΈΑ δ½ΘΝ½΅½Ρ‘Θ΅ ΈΜ΅₯ΝΡ Μ°Ρ‘½Ήέ‘ΌΝΡ½±½ΥΘ‘ ΙΠ Ή½ΝΈΠΩΈΡ‘₯Ή¬ ½ΥΠΥΜ Ήε΅½ΙΡ‘Ν ΅έ δέ±½Ω₯Ή±δΡ‘₯Ή¬½‘₯΄Έ]Ι΅ ½ΥΠΡ‘Ι₯Ή΅ ΈΝ‘½ΙΡ Έ]Ι΅ ½ΥΠΡ‘ΙΉ½Π₯Ή΅ Ήδέ₯±±₯Ή΅ΈΡΌ΅ΠΥΜΩΈ‘ ±έ δέ‘₯±έΌΡ‘₯ΝΡ Ή½Θ½ΥΘ΅ΈΈΈΉ ±°Ρ‘έ δ°₯ΈΩΙδέ δΈ]Ι΅ ½ΥΠΉ½Π±₯ΉΑΙ½Ω₯½Θ½ΘΑΙ½ΡΡδ½ΥΘ΅Έ°ΥΠ½Ή±δΡ Έ Ω ΉΡ ½ Ή½ΉΡ₯ΉΥ½ΥΝ±δ ΥΝ₯ΈΝΌ΅ Ήδέ εΜΈ(‘
