MACHINERY
Italian technology plast / October 2026
Today it is no longer enough to offer a technologically advanced machine: it is necessary to know the specific sector, speak the customer‘ s language and identify the phases in the production process where sorting generates the highest economic value.
GOING UPSTREAM IN THE PROCESS Another point concerns the way machines are designed. While in the past, sorting machines were installed primarily at the end of the production process, today they are increasingly being incorporated into the initial phases. This allows for early scrap separation, reduces energy and compressed air consumption and cuts manual sorting, which is still widespread in various recycling sectors. The result is an improvement in the overall efficiency of the system, as well as a significant reduction in operating costs.
FROM SELLING MACHINES TO SELLING MEASUR- ABLE RESULTS Innovation also concerns the business model. In some sectors, especially the food industry, 3U Vision is developing solutions that go beyond the traditional sale models, with sorting machines that can be rented according to plans based on productivity or the added value that the machine generates in the production process. This approach shifts the focus from simply supplying the hardware to the ability to create a measurable economic benefit for the customer.
SPECIALISATION AS A STRATEGY For Bonacina, the future of sorting will increasingly hinge on specialisation. Different markets require different skills, different stakeholders and a deep understanding of production processes.

For this reason, 3U Vision has built sales organisations dedicated to individual sectors, avoiding a generic approach. This strategy aims to consolidate the company‘ s presence in high-value segments, leveraging innovation, artificial intelligence and application expertise— elements that today represent a true competitive edge in an increasingly global market.
