ACHIEVING NEW TARGETS Today , the filtration system is the key component of a regeneration line , while the extruder is considered a fairly simple machine , which above all requires filter blocks in the case of heavily contaminated material to be cleaned quickly in order to avoid clogging , and most importantly to reduce plastic waste to a minimum - a target that the new DUO model has been able to achieve . „ The One model is the entry level ,“ Pegoraro points out , „ although it is very effective in traditional filtration tasks since it saves labour . The transition from a filter with a valve drain , which therefore discharges the waste once a pre-set pressure value is reached , to a continuous one like the DUO model guarantees a reduction in waste with an increase in productivity , justifying the higher price tag .“ DUO allows an increase in production of up to 20 % while reducing waste up to 50 %. This is not only a great economic advantage for regenerators but also eliminates the problems involved in the management of tons of waste . Not to mention that the continuous cleaning of the filter itself reduces the need for filter changes and cuts downtimes by even 75 %. Practically , the possible application field covers all polymers , except for PVC , and thanks also to the new initiative represented by the Break Lab division , dedicated to industrial testing , customers can come to us to test entire trucks of materials and evaluate the results of a real day ‘ s work . Various silos and mixers produced by the Group are made available for the customers ’ tests . The variables of a regeneration process , in fact , largely depend on what is done upstream , i . e . the type of recipe desired : „ That ‘ s why we start with the worst recipe , and then study corrective measures , with the aim of obtaining a higher quality polymer .“ Products and advice are the starting point , but then the difference lies in the services we offer . Remote maintenance is now mandatory , both in Italy , which benefits from ad-hoc incentives , and at a world level , „ where we are able to intervene within 48 hours in case of emergencies and anomalies . |
Since we do the same with the other companies belonging to the Group , we are extremely sensitive to this issue .“
GROWING SALES IN ITALY AND ABROAD While the market in general is showing some signs of uncertainty , for Break Machinery the first quarter of 2024 is bucking the trend , with some surprise considering that the company is still a young enterprise . Pegoraro comments : „ Our family has been known for years in the plastics regeneration sector and also for this reason we have managed to sell our filters to four large European groups thanks to the quality of our products . We are also cooperating with some of the world ‘ s leading extruder manufacturers , and that ‘ s hugely satisfying . In particular , over the past year we have able to grow thanks to a customer that processes highly contaminated

materials . Together , we have developed a major upgrade that has enabled us to identify the maximum wear limit of the filter by studying the absorption flows . Thanks to graphs relating to the operation of the screw and impeller we have identified the exact moment when the filter needs to be replaced .“ The results bear witness to the effectiveness of the company ’ s strategies . Pegoraro concludes : „ The fact that Break Machinery is a solid company is confirmed by the turnover of the first quarter of 2024 , up 40 % compared to the same period last year . Production has increased as well as the number of ready-made machines in stock . For example , we recorded substantial sales volumes and installations in the USA , Japan , Poland and , of course , Italy . If we continue to grow at this pace I expect at least a doubling of turnover , provided that the market demand remains high .“ |
