systems to be deployed in factories and integrated with ERP / MES software ), the Union Group has undertaken a number of initiatives , like joining a large international company such as the Mech-I- Tronic Group in summer 2023 , which has made it possible to broaden Union ’ s mechanical and electronic skills , as well as encouraging significant investments in different areas . We interviewed Andrea Rigliano , sales manager of the Union Group , to find out more about the company ’ s plans : “ A fundamental step is the investment in our new industrial production site : a 7,000 sq . m enlargement , adjacent to the existing warehouse , aimed at an overall increase in our production capacity to meet global demand as well as at other objectives , in particular the recognition of our company as a top innovative brand . Our core business consists of the delivery of qualified and standard systems : rigid film lines , foaming plants and complete systems for PP and / or PC hollow profiles , a segment where Union has truly been a specialist for many years . Then there are single-screw and twin-screw extruders , which are highly appreciated especially for their high output rates both by large BOPET and BOPP film producers and by OEM manufacturers of plants with a production capacity up to 6-7 tons per hour . As for regional markets , we are expanding in the Americas and consolidating our European operations . Between 1995 and 2010 Union was a major exporter of extrusion lines to China , a market that remains fundamental for us also thanks to our long-standing connections . During the recent Chinaplas exhibition we were able to examine in-

of regenerated and biobased materials , in parallel with the Union Extrusion Dome project , home to the Group ’ s R & D centre , equipped with laboratory machines , pilot plants and above all complete industrial lines . A real technological hub , available to flat-head and blown film converters , that can support the plastics processing industry and also the packaging
industry in bringing process innovation and finding new applications . Most spaces , Rigliano points out , will be reserved for R & D initiatives as well as for demonstrations and trials on machines . There will be no shortage of pilot lines , useful for the training of the customers ’ and our own internal staff ; the existing team will be strengthened ,
