ITALIAN LEADERSHIP
Smart Plastics and Packaging & Recycling are the events organised by the Plast magazine for the plastics industry . An Italian stage for the sector ’ s leading players . When it comes to events , we at Plast are also part of the scene . The conferences organised by our magazine will be returning in 2023 : Smart Plastics ( 17-18 May ) and Packaging & Recycling ( 21-22 June ). Both , in their respective fields , have become benchmarks in the sector for the high quality of information contained in the presentations , and for the opportunity they offer to communicate and forge new personal and business relationships . Online live coverage is a useful accompaniment , but it can never really have the same value as a face-to-face meeting . The setting for these events , the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo , adds the charm of a unique story , entirely “ Made in Italy ”, which combines creativity and industry . The Smart Plastics conference is devoted to engineering polymers , the plastic materials offering the highest performance levels in demanding applications in the automotive , aeronautical and electrical & electronic industries . Packaging & Recycling , on the other hand , focuses on the life cycle of plastic packaging , a dynamic and evolving sector , subject to frequent regulatory changes . The presence of brand-owners and end users is a particularly important feature of both our events , which , we are proud to say , have seen the participation of practically all the big names from sectors such as mobility and food processing . But their content is not all . One of our ambitions is to promote Italian leadership in the field of polymer technologies . In terms of history and quality , Italy is second to none and deserves to have , at home , a stage for technical proposals that will also attract foreign players . Incidentally , this year it is sixty years since the Nobel prize for chemistry was awarded to Giulio Natta , the inventor of polypropylene . This plastic material , the most widespread in the world , was created at Milan Polytechnic and the Montecatini factories in Ferrara . Smart Plastics and Packaging & Recycling will be an opportunity to remember this important fact , which today can serve as an important example for the future .
