Faced with today’ s increasingly challenging global market, Meccanoplastica’ s answer lies in the strength of Italian innovation. At Plast 2026 in Milan, the company will have a 250-sq. m stand where its technological presentation will be built around the idea of“ machinery in operation”. We explored the latest developments with Alberto Mencherini, Sales Manager at Meccanoplastica.
THE CHALLENGE OF CIRCULARITY: EBM AND PYROLYSIS-DERIVED RESINS The highlight in the field of extrusion blow moulding( EBM) is the HE480D machine, a fully electric solution with a clamping force of 12 tons. The true innovation lies in the material processed: a“ second-life” single-layer resin obtained through pyrolysis. Unlike traditional mechanical recycling— and reverting the conventional production process of virgin material— pyrolysis makes it possible to test the machine’ s limits when processing high-performance regenerated polymers. The system is equipped with a B & R platform incorporating advanced safety tools: for instance, the operator can carry out micro-adjustments and format changes with the safety doors open, using a joystick to manage the low-speed movements of the carriages in complete safety.
PERFORMANCE AND ENERGY SAVINGS: THE TWO-STAGE MIPET 2PS In the PET segment, Meccanoplastica will be exhibiting the MIPET 2PS model in a new advanced version, a fully electric two-stage machine designed for producing containers up to 3 litres.
• Thermal efficiency: the oven has been redesigned and now includes ceramic baffles to maximise heating efficiency while drastically reducing energy consumption.
• Productivity: the production of a 500 ml oval bottle at a rate of up to 3,000 pieces / hour with just two cavities will be demonstrated at the exhibition.
• Design: the model is the result of a thorough redesign programme aimed at optimising blowing precision even on thin-wall pieces.
