IOT, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND RECYCLING Negri Bossi‘ s vision for the near future is clear and ambitious, explains Ghilardi: „ Our future will be driven by quality moulding and recycling with the help of artificial intelligence.“ The machines already feature remote connectivity, OPC UA protocol and Euromap interfaces for integration into factory MES systems. An innovative system automatically generates a QR code incorporating all the machine‘ s diagnostic information: it only takes a few seconds to send the data to the customer support service, where an intelligent chatbot guides the operator through the troubleshooting procedures. On the research front, the collaboration with the RWTH University in Aachen( Germany) is giving promising results: a sandwich moulding system for recycled materials with artificial vision that analyses defects in real time and automatically adjusts process parameters. „ We are trying to enter those markets using these technologies, which are highly appreciated by all those who try them, and also give us security for the future,“ says Seminara.
TURN-KEY SOLUTIONS: THE GERMAN MODEL IS COMING TO ITALY Another trend that Negri Bossi is firmly embracing is that of integrated solutions: no longer just the press, but machine, mould, robot and automation in a single package. „ Germany has always had this vocation as a provider of turn-key solutions,“ notes Ghilardi „ and we are transferring this experience to Italy to serve a number of specific, targeted clients.“ A current project for a major car manufacturer, where the company acts as a full-service sampling partner, constitutes the most representative example from this point of view. Key to this is Sytrama, Negri Bossi‘ s subsidiary specialising in automation that can provide comprehensive solutions including 3D simulations. In June 2026, Sytrama will physically move to the Negri Bossi headquarters in a specially equipped area, a tangible sign of the desire to increasingly integrate expertise and multiply synergies.

PLAST 2026: THREE APPLICATIONS, ONE MESSAGE At Negri Bossi’ s booth at Plast 2026, visitors will find three applications that perfectly embody the company‘ s new market positioning. The first is a 110-ton all-electric press for liquid silicone rubber( LSR) producing a food-grade silicone cup in collaboration with Ewikon, a German manufacturer of hot-runner and cold-runner systems. The second is a 110-ton Nova Canbio hydraulic press making a transparent PETG cap for high-end cosmetics in collaboration with Vifra. The third application is intended for the medical sector in collaboration with Ghilardi Stampi: an 80-ton fully electric press for the production of syringe barrels.” This means it fits perfectly into the positioning that reinforces Negri Bossi‘ s image.” The booth will be also hosting IoT technologies, a QR code system for remote diagnostics and integration with MES systems.
THE ROUTE IS SET: TECHNOLOGY, QUALITY AND OPTIMISM Built over nearly eighty years and present all over the world, the Negri Bossi brand constitutes a legacy that no competitor can replicate in a short time. With Italy accounting for 60 % of the turnover and European branches fully operational, the foundation is absolutely solid. „ We anticipate a rosy future,“ concludes Ghilardi. „ Hydraulic machinery will not disappear— by 2030, 50 % of the global fleet will remain so— but growth is all on the electric, technical, connected and intelligent side of things.“ Negri Bossi has chosen to play on that terrain, with Japanese technology from Nissei, the new GMS platform and nearly eighty years of Italian experience behind it. A combination that will be clearly visible at Plast 2026.
