We are confident that this technology will contribute significantly to slashing plastic pollution in the Gulf of Naples and on our beaches.”

WASTE REMOVAL AND TREATMENT Blocking the floating waste is only the first part of the process. It will then have to be removed and treated. For the barrier outside Rome, two operators show up twice a week to collect plastic waste, and then send it to the sorting and recycling processes. Depending on the amount of waste, Seads can also install an automatic system with a conveyor belt connected to containers for collection. Seads is exploring the possibility of directly managing the recycling of plastics harvested from rivers and generating enough revenues to cover maintenance costs, also hypothesising business models for generating profits in cases where the quantity and quality of separated waste can allow it. For this reason, Seads has established new partnerships with stakeholders from the world of university research and with international companies.
