MULTI-STATION ROTARY PRESSES Presma ’ s multi-station rotary presses ensure high productivity for items of significant dimensions or thicknesses and long moulding cycles . These machines have been successfully utilised in various industries where it would be difficult to achieve the same results with traditional technology . For example , in shipbuilding and road safety , industrial and domestic cleaning , the production of rubber gaskets , insulators for high

voltage pylons , two-colour / bi-material industrial wheels for logistics applications and caps of thermoplastic resins or cork / plastic materials for the winemaking sector . For the latter sector , during the Plast 2023 show in Milan , Presma will be exhibiting a new electrical / mechanical model with 72 mould stations , equipped with two independent injection units and “ pick & place ” manipulators for insert loading . Presma is also able to deliver insert overmoulding solutions , that is to say production cells composed of several static presses equipped with horizontal punching-screw injection units and vertical clamping units managed by anthropomorphic robots . These solutions are ideal for the tooling industry . The moulds used in this application are less expensive than hot-runner ones , and multi-colour parts are made by transferring the mouldings from one cavity to another .

The company developed solutions for the production of large parts , using rotary table presses with stations arranged in line instead of a carousel . This configuration was devised to reduce the cooling time of parts and to simplify the rotation of the stations . An example of this solution is the production of a large tile ( 1,200 x 800 mm ) instead of a traffic cone . The machine used in this configuration is a modular FS4-430 press featuring drives of the last generation and a single-punch “ transfer ” injection unit . The FS4-430 press incorporates a robust structure with wide space between the tiebars and overall dimensions of 10,750 x 10,275 mm , aptly designed to ensure high energy efficiency thanks to the balanced use of electric and hydraulic actuators . The injection unit features a digitally controlled sliding system to ensure smooth and precise movement and perfect nozzle alignment during the four positioning steps . The press has been specially designed for PVC injection and offers larger injection capacity to optimise material loading times . |
