Hornets

RELATIONSHIPS IN MOEBES’ ERA

By Colton Foster
Expectations in Huntsville are once again high as the Hornets are going to field a team that is capable of making a deep run in 2025.
The Hornets return several studs who have all garnered experience from the past two seasons on teams that have made runs and were almost eliminated in the regular season, but now they attack as seniors for this Huntsville squad.
Even with all that experience back, there is a level of newness for this team with a change in head coach and coordinators that have the opportunity to build on the knowledge the Hornets had coming into this season.
“ With a new staff and schemes, the past is the past,” head coach Todd Moebes said.“ There’ s not much for us to learn from because it’ s so different. “ There are a lot of different things that we are doing, but what we are doing defensively from A to Z is different. They are accepting it and getting better. It’ s only going to get better as we go,” Todd said.“ We have some big names that are in the mix that will be back.”
Todd played football at Katy High School and Sam Houston before he started his coaching career, and when he played was an inside linebacker in this defense. Now, last year’ s district defensive Newcomer of the Year, Sam Cleveland, is being evaluated by somebody who has learned from the best.
Cleveland will be an inside backer for the Hornets this season and has been somewhat of a surprise to this staff, as he has taken the information and run. The real question will be who is paired with him on the second level, as he needs three others next to him for this sea-
