Bulldogs poised for success with strong run game
Coming off another season of making a postseason run , New Waverly is hungry for more . The Bulldogs made a postseason push , but fell in the first round .
With 17 total starters coming back on both sides of the ball , the Dogs hope to have a fast start with a heavy senior class and second-year coordinators .
“ We have one of our biggest senior classes in a while and they were all intricate parts of the team last year ,” Bulldog coach Dean Schuab said . “ We expect strong leadership from them . The young guys have been putting in work and I think we have 88 kids in football . Everybody is grasping what we are doing and expects big things this year .”
New Waverly will enter this season with a quarterback already in play with Cade Garrett , but the backfield is going to be the key .
The Bulldogs will look for Hunter Henry and Dillon Thomas as the head guys to line up next to Garrett . Henry gained over 1,500 all-purpose yards last season between his role as quarterback and running back .
For a 3A program , the Bulldogs will be incredibly deep and can go into the
